BSA 2008 – Conference report

10 October 2008 :
Last month saw the annual British Society of Audiology (BSA) Short Papers Meeting of Experimental Studies on Hearing and Deafness. The UK’s hearing research community descended on the Psychology Department at the University of York for two days of talks, poster presentations and catching-up with the latest experimental data.

Pauline Ashley Prize 2009 awarded to York PhD student

26 September 2008 :
The Deafness Research UK Pauline Ashley Prize 2009 has been awarded to Rosemary Lovett, a third year Psychology PhD student at the University of York.

New travel grant award scheme

Deafness Research UK has re-vamped its travel award scheme in order to make the application process more straightforward.

Pauline Ashley Prize for 2008 awarded to UCL scientist

This year's Pauline Ashley Prize has been awarded to Dr Lucy Anderson, a junior postdoctoral researcher working at University College London's Ear Institute.

The Pauline Ashley Prize 2007 has been awarded to Sam Irving, a young researcher at the MRC Institute for Hearing Research in Nottingham, who is looking for the region of the brain that helps us to hear someone in a noisy place, such as a party or bar, and is responsible for 'training' the brain to hear better in these situations.
